Empowering Karamoja's Next Generation to Learn, Innovate, Work and Lead. Adome Lorika Foundation is a community-rooted development organization based in Moroto, Uganda, working to expand opportunities for children, young people and vulnerable communities across Karamoja. Through education, practical skills, innovation, entrepreneurship and climate-resilient livelihoods, we invest in people and support communities to build a stronger, more sustainable future.

MISSION

To empower children, youth and vulnerable communities in Karamoja through education, skills, innovation and sustainable livelihoods that create lasting opportunities and resilience.

VISION

A thriving, self-reliant and resilient Karamoja where every child has access to quality education, every young person has the opportunity to thrive, every household can sustain a dignified livelihood, and every community has the power to overcome poverty and build a prosperous future.

What We Do

Karamoja’s greatest resource is its people. Yet many children, young people and vulnerable households continue to face barriers to education, employment, sustainable livelihoods and essential services.

At Adome Lorika Foundation, we believe lasting transformation begins by investing in people’s potential. We connect immediate community support with long-term opportunities that enable individuals and families to become more resilient, productive and empowered.

Our work focuses on four interconnected areas: education, youth skills and innovation, climate-resilient livelihoods, and community resilience.

Education & Future Scholars

We support vulnerable children and young people to access quality education, remain in school and pursue further learning. Through scholarships, school requirements, mentorship, digital learning and career guidance, we help learners build the knowledge, confidence and skills to become tomorrow’s professionals and community leaders.

Youth Skills & Innovation

We equip youth with practical, technical and entrepreneurial skills that open pathways to employment and self-reliance. By promoting innovation, enterprise development, mentorship and access to livelihood opportunities, we aim to turn the potential of Karamoja’s youth into productive businesses, meaningful work and lasting economic growth.

Climate Resilient Livelihoods

We promote sustainable livelihoods that help communities respond to drought, food insecurity and changing climate conditions. Through climate smart agriculture, livestock development, agribusiness, environmental restoration and income generating initiatives, we seek to improve food security and create sustainable economic opportunities.

Community Resilience

We work with vulnerable households and communities to improve wellbeing and social inclusion. Our efforts include community health awareness, elderly care, support for women and other vulnerable groups, and targeted humanitarian assistance for families facing hardship. We aim to strengthen community resilience.
